How to Train Your Dragon 2 - Finally, a sequel to 21 Jump Street.
I hereby dub this weekend 'Weekend 2: Electric Boogaloo'.
I don't know what it is about him; his muscular physique, his boyish charms, or his dance moves, but women really love Jonah Hill. Paired with Channing's Tatum 22 Jump Street is sure to open. The first one was surprisingly excellent and the new one is supposed to be that rarest of commodities, an equally good comedy sequel. I doubt Jonah Hill's comments will hurt the film, especially since he did his apology tour. It should easily win the weekend with adults.
However, not with those miniature adults. The ones they call children.
Kids always win when it comes to openings. If you're a parent, you know cartoons are in your future. If you're immature like me, you know that cartoons are in your future, regardless of the lack of small whining things. How to Train Your Dragon 2 is the much awaited sequel to one of the best animated films in the past decade. That's a strong field to contend with, but between the story, the style, and Jonah Hill, it's a winner. Oh yeah, there's that. Jonah Hill could be movies that go 1-2 at the box office this weekend. Seems children love him as much as the ladies. Like the perfect stepfather, or that guy who your mom has over sometimes that you call uncle.
Both movies are good, and on my watch list this weekend.

My son has most of the Train your Dragon books, so it is a no brainer we will see this. Now if I could onlyTrain him...

ReplyDeleteSeeing How to Train Your Dragon 2 this afternoon. 21 Jump Street was rather funny, but I'll probably wait until video for the sequel.
It doesn't lose its charm does it? Really beautiful movie.
