I have a problem with the idea of this guy reading a book. He couldn't even be bothered to read the description. At the very least, shouldn't the original French title located next to the English title, have clued him in? All the people in the film, having French names, was that too obvious? How about the fact that it was found in the foreign section, and tagged with 'French Movies'. I don't know what's sadder, the fact that he wrote that review, or the fact that 2 people found it helpful.
Thank you craigslist for defining futility.
Just another bit of proof that as a species, we are doomed...
ReplyDeleteHey, for some reason your post titles are not clickable in my rss reader. I have to open up another window, go to your blog, then click on the post. Weird.
ReplyDeleteAnd Amazon reviews are starting to really piss me off. Did you know that they aggregate all of the reviews, no matter what format? Example, I bought Wizard of Oz on DVD. Now the only reason that I grabbed it, was because the reviews said that it had the deleted scarecrow scene. I get it in the mail, so freaking excited, and it doesn't have the scene. Read the review again and the fine print says that the review was for the blue-ray version. GRR.
That is my rant on reviews for the day, thanks for listening;)
At least the guy who wrote this is clearly labelled "Idiot." He is, right?
ReplyDelete@Pat, You speak truth sir.
ReplyDelete@Gwen, That sounds pretty frustrating alright. Which edition did you get? Because there's an anniversary edition that came out last year (I believe) that as a special feature includes the fantastic Dreamer of Oz TV movie starring John Ritter as L. Frank Baum.
@Camel, Should have been, but no. Just another wrong.
If he couldn't be bothered to read subtitles, how on earth does he plan to get through an entire book? The intelligence level of some people in this country worries me.
ReplyDeletewell, the human race isn't entirely doomed. At least there are those who can recognize such stupidity
ReplyDeleteThis guy must be frustrated a lot of times in life.
ReplyDeleteIt's just another sign we are in an instant gratification generation. He definitely wouldn't be able to make it through a book, and if he did, it would probably look like Billie's from Born Yesterday. Every other word highlighted :)
ReplyDeleteTWO out of NINE members found this review helpful?
ReplyDeleteI'm aghast.
This is just some of the weird stuff, people post in reviews...you haven't seen reviewer cat fights thankfully, as I did while browsing for endorsement by users for a local product.
ReplyDeleteDon't people just make you throw up your hands and say "what the hell?" sometimes?

ReplyDeleteHow dare people in other countries make movies. I tried watching that Johnny English movie and I couldn't understand most of what they were saying. They should put on the cover, actors have funny accents. Turned it off immediately.
ReplyDeleteThis is why I favor zero population growth.

They say the world is being run by "C" students. I say that's being much too generous.
ReplyDeletehaha oh that's a great screen shot. good catch.
ReplyDeleteactually both are good screen shots.
