Alright, I admit I finally started getting burnt out on figuring out topics specific to letters. Call it a cop out but for U I decided just to write a poem. Better stuff tomorrow.
Under the stairs
Creeping and lurking
Breathing and burdened
Hiding from fear
She waits
Under the stairs
Alone, undiscovered
Dusty sheets cover
Hoping to hear
That's where they keep her
Where she won't get in the way
Where they only speak her name
In whispered prayers from out of shame
Waiting till the day
When heaven help them
She'll be on her way
Away
Under the stairs
Shrinking and breathless
Huddled and restless
Biding her time
She waits.
Nice poem, I enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteFirst I have been out of town so I wanted to say sorry for being so sporadic on my commenting. A lack of wifi connectivity sucks! And I've had a few issues with Disqus.
ReplyDeleteSecond, WOW love your unsettling poem!! Awesome!!
And third I wanted to say thanks for the really sweet comments on my blog. I loved reading them. hugs, Stacy H-W
You're talking about a spider aren't you....
ReplyDeleteAwesome...is it human or something else as nicole asked...either way...goosebumps variety. :)
ReplyDeletePretty good poem.
ReplyDeleteOh, I liked this--speaks to me of dark family secrets. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteLoved this, TS!
ReplyDeleteDude! You didn't phone this one at all! I loved it! Very Tense! Raw.
ReplyDeleteHey-- you've got rhythm! (=
ReplyDeleteWho could ask for anything more?-- Seriously though-- nice poem!
Harry Potter knows her pain.
Wow, powerful poem. I don't think it is a cop out (I think it is actually more impressive). Anyway, not really related to this post, but I wanted to let you know that I am passing on the "Stylish Blogger Award" to you. You can pick up the badge from my blog. Sorry, but it comes with rules. You can find the them (or ignore them) on my post for the letter V.
ReplyDeleteOk, I'm glad I didn't read this right before my bedtime..that's all I'm saying.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot. That's very nice of you.
ReplyDeleteIt's actually inspired by life. It's more about guilt than any actual terror.
ReplyDeletehaha, no, though I do like to write about spiders on occasion.
ReplyDeleteDisqus has given several people issues as of late. Should hopefully be working better by the end of the week.
ReplyDeleteHi. I am following Alex on his DISQUS trail for the A-Z Challenge.
ReplyDeleteYour poem is scary but sounds fun. I wrote a poem to for my U. I absolutely have no V yet, other than V for Vendetta.
Have you ever seen the movie, The People Under the Stairs? It is one of the few films, no make that only film, that ever gave me nightmares.
ReplyDeleteI know thank you for reminding me just how scary stairs are;)
I love that movie. Brilliant premise. One of the last really good original Craven films.
ReplyDeleteShould have known that you would have seen it!
ReplyDeleteI agree, Craven just went to the dogs, for the most part, since.
TS This is awesome!
ReplyDeleteThis is no cop out my friend. Its brilliant!
