10. Both movies feature relationships ending abruptly.
9. Both start as "office" romances.
8. Tom won't date anyone else and Francesco even after his beloved dies, only dates the same woman.
7. Both deal with heartbreak, (500) Days - broken relationship, Cemetery Man - zombie lover
6. Tom's friend McKenzie and Francesco's friend Gnanghi are two sides of the same coin.
5. Both quit their jobs at the end of their films in search of a fresh start.
4. Much as I love Zooey Deschanel, several of her roles have left me wondering if she's undead.
3. Neither are love stories.
2. Tom often revisits the past in (500) Days, while the past continually revisits Francesco in Cemetery Man.
1. Tom in (500) Days figuratively emasculates himself after a breakup while Francesco in Cemetery Man literally does.
Hilariously true in all the right ways

Two movies I clearly have no intention of seeing. Thanks for the tip.
ReplyDeleteNow I see the similarities!
ReplyDeleteheh, I like the comparison! My friends keep hyping up 500 Days, but I can't bring myself to watch it, because it's all my depressed, "relationships suck" friends who keep recommending it.
ReplyDeleteThese are on my "no see" list, too....but I love reading your comparisons!
ReplyDeleteI may need to see that movie because I liked 500 Days of Summer :)
