LENS VS. SQUARE
Proudest moment:
Being invited to take part in the Non-Review’s “Battle of the Shapes.”
Biggest regret:
Not working harder at separating its name from the eyeglass business. Lens hates that people think of its name like they do Oranges (color named after fruit—not the other way around) and the Canary Islands (bird named after islands—not the reverse).

Proudest moment:
Being chosen as the de facto shape of Egyptian building stones.
Biggest regret:
Not realizing it was going to be used to make a big Triangle.

It is now all up to you to decide which of these two shapes should make it to the final round, where it will go head-to-head with Circle. The voting begins now, and will end on Tuesday, when the winner will be announced, and the final battle will commence to decide: Who is The Greatest Shape? Submit your vote below, or via email. And remember, all bribes should be wired to our Swiss bank account, #67385, and are non-refundable.
square all the way. Lens can suck it!
ReplyDeleteI need shiny points on my shape.
I have to say without lens I can't see and NFL would not exist or it would be crappy. So I am going with Lens on this one.
ReplyDeleteNumber of times I have used a square in my artwork: countless thousands.
ReplyDeleteNumber of times I have used the lens shape in my artwork: never.
I choose square, with an acknowledgement of lenses as crucial mechanisms for video and sight.
Since I'm a lover of the 1980s I will need to just say this... "It's hip to be square" :)

Oh, this one has me confused. I guess I will go with square, but I think it's social pressure that's causing me to vote this way....
ReplyDeleteMy golden sentence written once and once only :"Come Rain Or Shine, Being A Square (Bon Ami) Is Always Feels Fine"
ReplyDeleteI'm throwing my vote to the square because Sarah Palin told me to...and she knows her squares.
ReplyDeleteYet again, social pressure (to rebel) and every grain of my being draw me to the more complex underdog: the lens. But voting for the simpleton served me with the circle vote. So, regrettably and with anticipatory relief of bypassing another stale donut, I vote for the damn square.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Robyn
Lens! It's more elegant than pedestrian ol' square.
ReplyDeleteI tell ya this was a tough one. Both these shapes were previous winners I picked, in fact I have picked all correct winners so far, (felt like tooting my horn for a sec).
ReplyDeleteEven though lens is a very cool free form shape I am going to have to go with square.
look at the blog awards to the right...where would they be without the square. They fit nice and neatly stacked on the side panel.
In fact without square what would our cities, libraries, and boxes look like?
Again it is a prime shape, that cinches the deal.
Circle against square? Gee who saw that coming ;)
I can't vote, because circle didn't make it. Not fair!
ReplyDeleteCircle! I mean, LENS! :)
ReplyDeleteI have to side with my brethren the squares, they are four sides of awesome
ReplyDeleteI'm still mourning triangle's loss to circle.
ReplyDeleteMy vote is for square....
I can't see what lens has ever done for me. Square it up!
