Estonian Phrase of the Week

It's my endeavor to teach you all to speak Estonian, one phrase or word at a time.
This Week:

Paha Poiss - (Ba-ha Boice)

Literally "Bad Boy."

It's a phrase I heard frequently growing up, though usually only in joking. Whenever I was actually in trouble I got it in English.

  2. I only order my mail order brides from the Ukraine so I don't need to know any Estonian. When in my life will I need to communicate in Estonian?

  3. Not at all. If you have some nice farmgirls who would be impressed with my indoor toilet facilities and would like to live with electricity then send me the catalogue.

  4. Not very likely since Estonia is considered to be the most tech friendly country. Besides, they have a thing for folk dancing. I'm not sure, but you don't really seem the folk dancing type.

  5. Are you cereal? I was a dancer...I could have been a SHUMKA Ukrainian dancer. The ones with the red boots that jump higher. A tech savy girl in traditional folk dancing cloths...give her my number.

  8. Hahaha Copy, that's hysterical

AsBlack, Yep, at least at the start of a word. My Uncle's name for instance is Paavo, but it's pronounced "Ba-vo"

  9. Well, it could be because I'm a moron, or it could be because I'm a really big moron - but I don't think I'll ever associate Estonia with anything but Encino Man.

    Brendan Frasier, world's best/worst ambassador.
