From the first bite I knew things had gone wrong. The apple which should've been crisp and with a tart snap, was in actuality quite mushy and mealy. The golden delicious that had been chosen, should have offered a slightly sweet pairing to the gloopy, brown goodness nestled inside. Instead the fruit lacked any discernible flavor and only detracted from the over all composition.
As for the peanut butter, a store brand bought on the cheap, offered a surprisingly good peanut to goo ratio, with bursting roasted nut whispers that danced nimbly upon the tongue. Really a pity to be paired with such a plebeian, afterthought of a tree. Unfortunate as well that I bought three of them, for now I have his brothers as well to deal with. With any luck they'll somehow fair better.
Oh apple tree, I wished to eat of your sweet life, not your stillborn fruit.
